Guidance and support for professionals

The latest guidance to outline the general approach to contact tracing is available on the HPS website.

Healthcare settings

No changes have been made to existing guidance and protocols for accessing COVID-19 testing, caring for a person with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 infection, or minimising the risk of transmission through physical distancing and hygiene.

The latest guidance for healthcare settings, can be found on the HPS website.

Other settings

The latest guidance for non-healthcare settings can be found on the HPS website.

Complex settings

Complex settings such as care homes, hospitals and prisons need to be assessed on a case by case basis locally, taking into account local and national guidance for that setting. Health protection teams in health boards will deal with contact tracing of complex cases, leaving the national service to focus on routine cases.

The latest guidance for complex settings is available on the HPS website.

Guidance for employers

Employers play a vital role in supporting employees if they need to isolate, either because they have the virus themselves or have been identified as a contact.

The latest guidance for employers can be found on the Scottish Government website.
