This guidance is based on, but not limited to, the previous 'Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Guidance for Primary Care' and 'COVID-19 Guidance for Secondary Care Settings'.

It covers the core public health principles and measures for managing COVID-19 that apply in most healthcare settings.

This guidance provides additional information for specified healthcare settings.

Settings included are:

  • primary care – including healthcare delivered in the community
  • secondary care – for instance, hospitals
  • hospice care
  • ambulance settings
