This guidance is for owners, managers and staff of sex-on-premises venues, and gives advice on cleaning their venues in light of the recent increase in mpox infections in the UK, including in Scotland.
The guidance is based on the published principles for mpox control in the UK four nations consensus statement from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA). Associated UKHSA guidance documents are available on their mpox guidance page.
It has been produced in collaboration with Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare Associated Infection (ARHAI) Scotland and sexual health services.
