“To Freedom of Information Officer,
Under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 I request the following recorded information for patients aged 16 years or under for the period 1 January 2022 to 11 September 2025.
Vape-related cases
The number of emergency department attendances and hospital admissions for children (≤16) where the presenting complaint, diagnosis, or coding indicates vape/e-cigarette related health problems, broken down by:
- Year (and quarter if possible)
- Age group (0–4, 5–9, 10–12, 13–16)
- Sex
- NHS Board (if available)
- Attendance type (ED, Paediatric ED, Admission)
- Outcome (discharge, admitted, death)”
