Details from the request:
… the recent fire at Melville Recycling Centre, I request under FOISA legislation
- the data from all air monitoring stations in the affected surrounding area daily, since the fire began on 11/12 May 2026 (from Cupar and any additional monitoring stations you are aware of)
- A full list of all the toxins known, or expected to be being released into the air as a result of the fire
- Details of the potential long and short term impacts of people breathing in those toxins
- Details of the potential future impact on the wider environment - g. water quality, agriculture, plant life as the toxins are absorbed
If the answer to any of these questions is that you don’t hold the information
- can you please advise why Public Health Scotland is NOT monitoring and advising on this as part of the multi-agency response to the incident? And
- which agency/organisation does hold that information?
Could you also provide details of all of the key responsibilities of each agency which is part of the multi-agency response to the incident.
