Request
…requesting all recorded information, from 2005 to the present, held by Public Health Scotland (PHS) or its predecessor organisations, pertaining to the potential health impacts of LED lighting used in public and vehicle settings.
Specifically, disclosure of all information held, including but not limited to:
- Any studies, assessments, evaluations, or reviews conducted, commissioned, or reviewed by PHS regarding the health effects of LED lighting, including circadian rhythm disruption, melatonin suppression, eye strain, glare, sleep disturbance, and other physiological or neurological effects.
- Any measurements, evaluations, or risk analyses concerning radiation levels (including electromagnetic and photobiological emissions) associated with LED lighting in street or vehicle applications.
- Any guidance, correspondence, or recommendations issued by PHS to the Scottish Government, Transport Scotland, local authorities, or any other public body regarding the health or safety aspects of LED street lighting or LED vehicle headlights.
- Any internal communications, meeting minutes, or policy papers discussing potential health implications of LED lighting, either at national or local level.
- Any references to external studies or scientific reviews (for example, from the World Health Organization, Public Health England, the European Commission, or academic institutions) that have informed PHS’s position on LED lighting safety.
- Any risk registers, public health assessments, or internal briefings held by PHS that reference the potential effects of LED lighting exposure on human health.
