Our daily COVID-19 dashboard, previously updated in July, now has several additional features which allows data to be presented in a more accessible and meaningful way.

The dashboard now includes a daily update on the number of tests carried out for COVID-19 and new hospital and ICU admissions. It will continue to use the latest statistics on cases of COVID-19 and the number of deaths of individuals who were laboratory confirmed. The seven-day positive case rate is presented in a clear way at Scotland, NHS Board and Local Authority level enabling headline figures to be easily accessible.

One of the most significant updates is the ability to view the rate of COVID-19 infection within each local authority area at a neighbourhood level using Intermediate Zones reflecting areas containing between 2,500-6000 household residents. The interactive map helps the public see the level of cases over a seven-day period at a Scotland, local authority and at local level with the neighbourhood level data subject to appropriate disclosure control. Public health teams have access to a greater level of detail, and are constantly monitoring the number and location of cases in Scotland, and responding to localised outbreaks wherever and whenever they occur.

It is important that the public continue to follow the latest guidance, and that we all play our part in keeping infection and transmission rates low by reducing the risk of COVID-19 spreading through physical distancing, good hand and respiratory hygiene and the appropriate use of face coverings.
