Following advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI), Public Health Scotland (PHS) will work with Scottish Government and NHS boards to finalise plans for the roll out of Scotland’s spring 2026 COVID-19 vaccination programme.

The JCVI has advised those eligible for a COVID-19 vaccination this spring are:

  • All those aged 75 years and over
  • Residents in care homes for older adults
  • Individuals aged 6 months and over who have a weakened immune system.

To be eligible, an individual must turn 75 years of age on or before 30 June 2026 (people born on or before 30 June 1951). Infants must turn 6 months of age on or before 31 March 2026 to be eligible.

Eligibility for the COVID-19 spring vaccination programme remains identical to spring 2025.
