COVID-19 vaccine delivery and workforce information
Overview
COVID-19 vaccines have been approved for use by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
COVID-19 vaccinations started in the UK on 8 December 2020.
These web pages are intended for people who are part of the workforce involved in delivering the COVID-19 vaccination programme.
The purpose of these web pages is to provide the workforce with:
- a dedicated online space for accurate information
- useful resources regarding COVID-19 vaccination in Scotland
This information will be updated regularly.
It can help you stay informed about the COVID-19 vaccination programme.
FVCV Programme in Public Health Scotland
The Scottish Government Flu Vaccines and COVID-19 Vaccinations Delivery (FVCV) Programme ensures the readiness of Scotland for:
- the implementation of an expansion to the flu vaccination programme
- the delivery of a COVID-19 vaccination
Joint Committee for Vaccinations and Immunisations (JCVI) and Scottish Government makes recommendations for the COVID-19 vaccination programme in Scotland.
Public Health Scotland (PHS) has a key role in contributing, monitoring and responding to COVID-19 vaccine safety.
PHS supports the safe delivery of the COVID-19 vaccination programme by working in partnership with:
- our NHS Board colleagues
- UK bodies such as the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA)
A Clinical Governance Group was established in November 2020.
It is co-chaired by Public Health Scotland and The Scottish Government.
This group provides national-level clinical leadership for the FVCV Programme.
This includes overseeing effective mechanisms to monitor, evaluate and assure the clinical aspects of the wider COVID-19 programme.
