The resources listed below make up the Flu Education Pack. They are aimed at school staff supporting the National Flu Immunisation Programme during autumn and winter 2021 to 2022.

Flu vaccinations for education staff and secondary school pupils

Teachers, pupil facing support staff and secondary school pupils will no longer be offered the flu vaccination this season due to the rise of the Omicron variant and the prioritisation of the Covid-19 booster vaccinations.

Missed appointments in school

Parents of school children who missed their appointment in school can still arrange for their child to be vaccinated against flu.

Resources are available to advise parents and carers how they can book an appointment for children from P1 to P7.

What to expect during your flu vaccination video

We have produced a new animation video for 2021. It introduces flu and the concept of immunisation in an engaging way, and shows how the nasal spray vaccine is given.

The video is aimed at primary school pupils, parents and carers and teachers. It can be shown in classrooms and assemblies.
