Viral Respiratory Diseases (including Influenza and COVID-19) in Scotland Surveillance Report -
Public Health Scotland (PHS) continue to consider timely ways to provide the public with official statistics. Between April and October 2024, Public Health Scotland (PHS) will update the narrative report once a month. The narrative reports will be produced on 5 September 2024 and then 3 October 2024 with weekly full reporting resuming 10 October 2024. This approach aligns to the pre-pandemic one for respiratory pathogens, which typically follow a seasonal pattern. The interactive dashboard will continue to be updated weekly, and PHS will continue to monitor COVID-19 and other respiratory infection levels and reinstate the weekly narrative report before October 2024 if necessary.
Vaping Related Hospital Admissions - this publication, preannounced for release in November 2024, has been withdrawn. Investigation into the hospital admissions dataset, consultation with clinical partners and exploration of related PHS datasets indicate that the data are not robust enough or complete enough to base a statistical release on. The Health Harms Intelligence team will continue to monitor relevant datasets and engage with clinical partners and representative groups on what is still a developing area.
Self-Directed Support; Support provided or funded by local authorities in Scotland -Due to data quality issues found in the 22/23 statistics, this publication, previously preannounced for release has now been delayed until further notice.

Cancer Incidence in Scotland preannounced for 29 October 2024 has been delayed to 26 November 2024 this will enable new analysis to be incorporated. Mid year population estimates for 2022 will be used, the report will not include any data broken down by deprivation as these data are unavailable. This will be produced once NRS release the required data.
