Viral Respiratory Diseases (including Influenza and COVID-19) in Scotland Surveillance Report -
Public Health Scotland (PHS) continue to consider timely ways to provide the public with official statistics. Between April and October 2024, Public Health Scotland (PHS) will update the narrative report once a month. The next narrative report will be produced on 5 September 2024 and then 3 October 2024 with weekly full reporting resuming 10 October 2024. This approach aligns to the pre-pandemic one for respiratory pathogens, which typically follow a seasonal pattern. The interactive dashboard will continue to be updated weekly, and PHS will continue to monitor COVID-19 and other respiratory infection levels and reinstate the weekly narrative report before October 2024 if necessary.
Vaping Related Hospital Admissions - This publication, preannounced for release will focus on hospital admissions where ICD-10 code U0.70 has been recorded as a primary or secondary diagnosis. To enable further analyses this publication will be delayed to November 2024.
Self-Directed Support; Support provided or funded by local authorities in Scotland -Due to data quality issues found in the 22/23 statistics, this publication, previously preannounced for release has now been delayed until further notice.
PHS Fair Work Policy Briefing preannounced for June 2024, will be further delayed to October 2024, this is due to extra time needed to enable further analyses of the evidence.
The National Drug Related Deaths report (2019 and 2020) report scheduled for 17 September 2024 has been delayed to 8 October 2024. This is to allow time for new analysis relating to deaths in 2020 based on new findings from the analysis so far.
Alcohol brief interventions; a review of strategy and recommendations for policy pre announced for 2 July 2024 has been delayed until 29 October 2024 as more time is required to complete the report’s quality assurance processes.
Audit of Critical Care in Scotland report scheduled for 27 August 2024 has been delayed to 5 November 2024 as the team continue to support time-sensitive work from the COVID enquiry.
Prescribing Statistics - Dispenser Payments and Prescription Cost Analysis Report - pre-announced for 24 September 2024 has been delayed until 8 October 2024 due to data quality issues arising from ongoing data development work occurring over the past 12 months related to the underlying dataset
