The CARDRISS and prescribing teams in Public Health Scotland are working together to develop new national data on the use of potentially teratogenic medicines in pregnancy. Potentially teratogenic medicines are those that may harm the baby when taken in pregnancy, resulting in a congenital condition or affecting the resulting child’s development. It is important that health services support pregnant women to avoid potentially teratogenic medicines in pregnancy whenever possible. Report updated with minor amendments on 3 December 2024.
