The COVID-19 Education Surveillance dashboard is updated weekly and provides information on COVID-19 in children and young people of educational age, education staff and educational settings. The dashboard provides data on:

  • PCR testing: among children and young people of educational age (under 21 years of age); weekly data on the rate of COVID-19 testing, the number and rate of positive cases, and the percentage of tests taken that are positive.
  • Hospital admissions: the number of hospital admissions related to COVID-19 among children and young people under 21 years of age are shown on a three-weekly rolling average.
  • Information from contact tracing: the percentage of cases who were present in an educational setting in the 7 days before symptom onset, the percentage of cases who work in education or childcare, and the completeness of occupational sector information within the Contact Management System.
  • Lateral flow device (LFD) testing programme in schools: information on the number of staff and pupils participating in the programme, including number of tests, rate of uptake and the outcome of these tests.
