This guidance outlines the minimum standards that are required for effective storage and handling of vaccines to minimise the risk of compromising the effectiveness of vaccines given to patients.

The guidance is aimed at all staff involved with the planning or delivery of immunisation programmes in all settings.

The purpose of this guidance is to support NHS boards by providing a framework within which NHS boards are expected to align their local policies regarding vaccine storage and handling.
