About this release

This dashboard presents data on NHS Scotland’s carbon emissions. This information has been brought together in order to support the NHS Scotland Climate Emergency & Sustainability Strategy (external website).

The strategy sets out the approach and actions that will be taken by NHS Scotland, with support from the Scottish Government and in partnership with others, to respond to the climate emergency and to contribute towards the achievement of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (external website).

The dashboard takes information published annually by each NHS Board under the Public Bodies Climate Change Duties Compliance Reporting (external website) and, after additional processing by the Scottish Government, presents the data in a graphical format that allows comparisons to be made and progress over time to be monitored.

Further information

This dashboard is available at: NHS Carbon Emissions.

Data on the dashboard will be periodically updated during the year. Revisions and updates to data will be noted on the What's New page of the dashboard.
