The PHS Health Impact Assessment Support Unit (HIASU) was formed in 2022.

The purpose of the HIASU is to:

  • support local partners in the use of HIA to integrate health and health inequalities into all policies and services
  • collaborate nationally to advocate for HIA as part of a Health in All Policies (HiAP) approach

HIASU provides:

  • advice and guidance to support the delivery of HIA
  • opportunities to share learning and good practice
  • resources to support understanding, delivery and completion of HIAs

The team also manages the Scottish Health and Inequalities Impact Assessment Network (SHIIAN).

If you have a query, or would like to discuss collaborative working, please contact phs.healthimpactassessment@phs.scot
