NHS Scotland Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) Survey Programme

Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) is a lightweight concrete variant that was widely used in UK roof construction from the mid-1950s to the late 1980s and early 1990s. It is less durable than concrete and has a lifespan of around 30 years. 

NHS Assure has been leading a programme of work to survey properties across the NHS estate that have been identified as having two or more characteristics of RAAC. Public Health Scotland, as a tenant of all the property it occupies, has worked with our respective landlords and can confirm none of our leased property contains RAAC.
